JERUSALEM TARGETED BY ROCKET FIRE FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2014

Rockets are fired from Gaza City, controlled by the Palestinian terror movement Hamas, towards Israel on May 10, 2021. (MAHMUD HAMS / AFP for Times of Israel)
Red alert. 20 seconds to reach cover.
Thousands of civilians in Sderot, Ashkelon, and Jerusalem ran to shelters and threw themselves over their loved ones today as sirens wailed and incoming terrorist missiles from Gaza blasted through the sky. Many of these civilians still carried the same Israeli flags used earlier to celebrate Yom Yerushalayim, a day of tremendous historical significance. We wish for the speedy recovery of all the injured, and our hearts and prayers fly overseas to the young soldiers now putting themselves in harm’s way to protect Israelis from this indiscriminate violence.
As you read this, IDF soldiers are engaging on multiple fronts to save lives, combating terror tunnels, barrages of stone, incendiary balloons, anti-tank missiles, rockets, mortars and missiles. We salute these selfless soldiers who run toward danger as others run away, in defense of life and in defense of Israel.
What can you do? Share this email and support the IDF soldiers as they stand up to terror. IDF Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi met with Israeli leadership to assess the situation; as always, FIDF remains in close contact so as to assist Israel’s courageous soldiers in the unfolding days to come.
In solidarity, The FIDF Family
